Cosmetic Dental Bonding Lacey, WA
When your smile needs a pick-me-up, you can count on Brian K. Rounds, DDS to give you the results you need. When cracking and chipping is something that your smile suffers from, we have a quick and easy way to fix it – cosmetic dental bonding. When other cosmetic solutions leave you wishing that there was a faster and more cost effective option, dental bonding is it!
What is cosmetic dental bonding? You are probably familiar by now with the concept of tooth colored fillings – the fillings that look just like your natural teeth. Well, cosmetic dental bonding uses that same composite material that we use to fill tooth colored fillings with in order to repair your smile and make it look good-as-new.
Composite resin is the material that we use to accomplish this task. It is made of a mixture of glass, plastic, and a tooth colored resin that is the consistency of putty or clay when we apply it to your teeth. We sculpt and mold it to your teeth, making sure that it looks just like your natural tooth, then we set it in place using an ultraviolet light.
Taking Care of Your Dental BondsIt is important to take care of your new dental bonds to ensure that they last you a long time. Follow the same set of rules as you would to take care of your natural teeth. Do not chew on extremely hard objects like ice cubes or hard candies. Never use your teeth as tools to open packaging or bags of any kind. Avoid clenching or grinding your teeth if at all possible. If you know that you grind your teeth at night, we do offer nighttime bruxism guards that help to keep your teeth safe and reduce the strain on your TMJ.
Make sure to keep good oral hygiene routines, which means brushing with a soft bristled tooth brush at least twice a day and flossing once a day. It’s important to remember to schedule twice-yearly appointments for cleanings and examination with us as well. When you come in we can check on your dental bonds and determine if there are any touch ups that we can provide.
Other Cosmetic OptionsWhen considering sprucing up your smile it is important to realize that there are a few options available. Porcelain veneers are able to alter just about any part of your smile that you can imagine. They can fix crooked teeth, size issues, cover cracks and chips, resist staining and more! Porcelain veneers require more time to be fabricated and placed, but the results are quite dramatic.
Teeth whitening is a great option if all you need is for your smile to stand out more than it does currently. We have a number of whitening options available that can quickly brighten your teeth to any shade that you desire.
