Your Mouth Loves It When You Eat CheeseNot many foods can consistently make it to the table for each meal. Cheese is one of those foods. It offers a variety of flavors while also benefiting your mouth. Cheese can be fruity or roasted in flavor, or it can be spicy. It is an honest mouthful of goodness while also affording benefits to the mouth which opens wide to welcome it.

Cheese Contains Nutrients

Dairy products, like cheese and yogurt, are full of calcium which is also good for your mouth and bones. Calcium plays a key role in fortifying your enamel and strengthening your jawbone. It provides needed structural support for your teeth and gums. It is important to eat foods that are good sources of many vitamins and minerals.

What is Casein in Cheese?

Dairy products also contain other essential nutrients. Cheese contains a protein called casein. This important protein releases amino acids slowly, so your body is fed with protein at a low level for a long time. Casein also helps to prevent decalcification on your teeth by forming a protective coating on the enamel. Casein strengthens tooth enamel. When the tooth enamel is strong, it is hard for cavities to form as the bacteria cannot penetrate the enamel.

Casein fights acid erosion on your teeth. This vital protein neutralizes some of the acids that you consume. Acidic foods and drinks are enemies with enamel and destroy enamel. Casein protects your enamel. Furthermore, casein works together with calcium to repair holes in your teeth.
