Freshening Your Breath On the Go Is ImportantHaving fresh breath is obviously important for your confidence and for making a good impression on the people around you. Even if it seems superficial, the way your breath smells can make or break a job interview, professional meeting, or first date. Plus, bad breath can also be an indicator of serious problems like gum disease, so it is important to pay attention to your breath. Here are some easy ways to freshen your breath on the go.

Sugar-Free Gum and Mints

Walk into any pharmacy or grocery store and you will be able to see just how many different brands of gum and breath mints are available today. A pack of gum or a tin of mints is small and discreet, so you can easily fit it in your pocket or handbag for those moments when you notice your breath is less than perfect while you are out and about. Keeping gum or mints in your car or your desk at work is also a great way to ensure that you always have access to these breath freshening options. Even if you are not a fan of traditional mint flavors, you can find gum and breath mints in a variety of other flavors like cinnamon, strawberry, or bubble gum. Just make sure the products you choose are sugar-free and carry the ADA Seal of Acceptance.

Dental Floss and Travel Toothbrushes

Another option for freshening your breath on the go is to carry a travel-sized toothbrush or a small container of dental floss or floss picks with you. These items will also help remove unsightly bits of food from your teeth after a meal and are especially beneficial for people who might be inconsistent about their oral hygiene routine at home.

Foods That Freshen Your Breath

If bad breath strikes and you find yourself without any of the above tools, you might be able to freshen your breath with items in your lunchbox. Crunchy foods like carrots, apples, and celery freshen breath because they stimulate saliva production, which washes away oral bacteria and keeps your mouth clean. Other natural breath fresheners include parsley and cloves. For more ways to address bad breath, call our office today.
